Build Points
Build Points do not factor into ones XP or PP totals on their sheets, but is used to cover things that are gotten for creation, backgrounds or for Diablerie.
Experience
These are the following ways that players may earn Experience points:
Game Attendance and general Roleplay (2)
Downtimes (1)
Player's Roleplay Vote (1)
ST Vote (1) (Staff not eligible)
Staff (1)
Costume (1)
Host (1)
Diablerie is worth 2 build points, to only be used for abilities or disciplines that the cainite being eaten has. No Actual XP is added for this.
Spending Experience:
Experience expenditures are due with Downtimes. This can include XP spends written on a sheet to be added after game. You cannot build a character and later transfer XP from that PC to a pre-existing PC. In the event someone wants to merge XP from two characters to one new character in creation, standard carryover rules apply to the higher of the two, and the second one is merged at 50% XP.
Diminishing XP Scale
The XP scale would be reducing the amount of XP earned per game as the character's total XP goes up.
| Actual XP | XP earned Per Game |
| 1 - 99 | up to 8 XP |
| 100 - 199 | up to 7 XP |
| 200 - 299 | up to 6 XP |
| 300 - 399 | up to 5 XP |
| 400 - 499 | up to 4 XP |
| 500 - 599 | up to 3 XP |
| 600 & up | only 2 XP |
This scale does not effect the Move Forward XP gain, if or when done.
XP that is earned over this scale will be added as a separate listing in a separate database to be used as normal XP for a new character.
Example of this:
Bob has a 600 point character, so that character only gains 2 XP a game, but Bob earns consistently 8 XP every game. In one year's time (figuring for 25 games) Bob will have 148 to put towards a new character. Any new character made with that scale is also subject to the scale as well, making his new character earn only 7 XP a game at max (due to 148 Xp on it right away).
Player Points
Player points can be gained via other avenues then those listed in the XP section. This can include bring supplies, food or drinks, costuming others, rides to or from game, etc.
Final Call on any Player Points are up at the Staff's discretion.
Spending Player Points:
The list below in a good idea of what can be done using player points, and all spends of this will require Staff Approval, so we can work it into the game. Also the costs listed below do not include the cost of the item in question (unless listed as buying or purchasing). For example if the Merit Lucky is capped, and someone wants to spend Player Points to get this merit, they would need to spend 6 PP, then 6 XP (getting the merit after creation) to add the merit to their sheet.
Keep in mind that alot of what is listed below can be earned through in game routes or roleplay, and are usually cheaper on the points that way. For instance more common Blood Magic types can be learned in game with a few pre-requisites and 1 year's worth of downtimes. Alternatively you can spent 30 PP to bypass the year's learning and the pre-requisites.
Purchasing rerolls for clan or generation for character creation (3 PP a roll)
Purchasing Haven Add-Ons or Backgrounds other then Resources or Influence (2 PP rather then 1 XP per item purchased)
Obtaining access to capped merits. (2x merit cost in PP.) Merits purchased in this method can be done up to double the merit cap, if approved by staff.
Obtaining access to rare mentors. (2x mentor level in PP.)
Obtaining access to a Cainite for diablerie purposes - this cannot be used to get lower then 7th Generation (20 PP.)
Obtaining a Writ of Amaranth over the above-mentioned Cainite. (10 PP.)
Obtaining a magical item in downtime/character background. (ST Majority Vote on Number of Points based on power level.)
Obtaining access to Blood Magic (30 PP)
Obtaining access to rare Blood Magic (50 PP)
Buying off Negative Traits, Derangements or Flaws (2 PP per 1 XP towards removal)
Blood Magic will be assumed to be learned from a rouge of the group that knows that Sorcery unless other measures are taken. An example of this would be Clan Friendship with that clan, or other merits/ways.
